The JW Marriott Resort and Spa project has been one of the Gold Coast’s most luxurious developments, with the international brand’s Australian debut bringing a sense of extravagance to the local area.  The $35M re-development of the resort formerly known as the ‘Marriott’ was designed by DBI Architects, and was constructed and project managed by SHAPE, as well as food-service spaces designed by FSDA.  The re-development of this hotel icon included the re-modeling of 223 guest rooms, an upgraded all-day dining restaurant, a Japanese whiskey and teppanyaki bar, as well as an indoor-outdoor cocktail bar connecting to the pool facilities and the quintessential grotto area.  This project was incredible to be a part of; we incorporated foodservice equipment from the likes of Moffat, Williams Refrigeration, FSM, Roband, SAFCO and various other brands.  As well as installing the bespoke stainless steel cabinetry and brass features, we created a completely custom cooking suite for the buffet space in the all-day dining restaurant, which showcases top-of-the-line cooking equipment, brass trimmings, as well as a beautiful brass railing as one of the design statements of the custom T&H cooking suite.
